We have secured through our buying group (www.handbgroup.com) a new deal from Thermalite for the supply of aerated (or lightweight | insulating) blocks.  We have been a keen Durox supporter over the last 15 years but this change does mean there will no NO PRICE INCREASE this year on the supply of this product !  Remember, for larger loads, direct to site deals are available; please call on 01305 812016 for a quote.

‘Invoices by Email’ update

Many more have requested their invoices by email; and many have asked for a demo and were not too sure what this change would mean.  In response to this, we have uploaded a mock invoice to our webspace (more on this in a minute).  Before viewing you will need Adobe Reader on your pc to open this file (known as a .pdf) and this can be downloaded by following this link, then following the onscreen instructions.  If Adobe Reader is already installed on your pc or you have now installed it, the mock invoice can be viewed by clicking here.

By receiving your invoices in this format, you will…

• Received your invoices weekly (rather than monthly by post)
• Be able to cost your jobs more efficiently
• Be doing your bit for the environment

I think the old saying of ‘it gets quicker as you get older’ seems ever more prevalent this year – it really can’t be the end of the year already – can it ?

It seems the news reports are very slightly more positive regarding the housing market; I’ve always said that ‘our market’ being us supplying and you the small builder should really benefit from the current situation with people generally staying put and improving their existing property with extensions, loft conversions etc.  We have however noticed a decline in single or small multiple plot developments.

What we’ve done in 2009 !

After many months of work we launched our new website in January.  We’re currently working on software to add 1000s of more products to the online shop.  Although currently this is aimed at the retail market our next phase will be to link specific customer terms to the shop; in the meantime you’ll be able to get a guide on prices from the comfort of your own home !

Hire Department

Kev Lucas joined us in back in May and has really taken hold of the Hire services we offer.  Kev has some 30 years experience ion the hire sector and many of you will know him previously from Mitchells.  We’ve added many new machines and plant to our fleet, so remember for any hire requirement, please give him a call on 01305 812016 or direct on 07976 577537.

The Yard

Phil and the lads in the yard have spent endless hours this year on rearranging the yard spaces.  Buildrites’ premises now cover approximately 2 acres so that’s a huge amount of stock to sort !  Although there’s still lots to do, hopefully you’ve been finding us easier to use than ever before !

The Showroom

Kate has been organising a refit of a large part of our ‘Solutons’ Kitchen, Bathroom and Bedroom showroom which we hope to start this month.  If your looking for a bargain, now might be the time to grab one !  We’re clearing out lots of items (many still current) to make way for new and innovative products.

Kate has also added loads of new tile ranges and we’re currently making way for new flooring ranges from vinyls to carpets, laminates to stone !
